Samburu National Reserve is a rugged, semi-arid wilderness located in northern Kenya along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Drive to Samburu National Reserve

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive north through the equator line in Nanyuki.

Scenic views of Mount Kenya and arid northern landscapes.

Arrive in Samburu around midday for check-in and lunch at your lodge or camp.

Afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve.

Look out for the “Samburu Special Five”: Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx.

Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.

Accommodation Options: Samburu Sopa Lodge, Ashnil Samburu, Elephant Bedroom Camp (depending on budget)

Day 2: Full Day in Samburu National Reserve

Early morning game drive to catch predators at their most active.

Return for breakfast, then enjoy leisure time at the camp/lodge.

Optional visit to a Samburu cultural village (entry fee extra).

Afternoon game drive exploring different areas along the Ewaso Nyiro River.

Spot elephants, lions, leopards, and a wide range of bird species.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Overnight: Same lodge/camp as Day 1

Day 3: Samburu – Return to Nairobi

Early morning game drive (optional) followed by breakfast.

Check out and begin your return journey to Nairobi.

Stop for lunch en route at a local restaurant or lodge (optional).

Arrive in Nairobi in the late afternoon or early evening.
