Wasini Day Trip

Destination: Wasini Island (Near Shimoni, South Coast, Kenya)
Highlights: Dolphin spotting, snorkeling, Swahili cuisine, coral gardens, and a dhow cruise.

Morning: Departure & Dolphin Watching

6:30 AM – Pick-up from Diani/Ukunda/Shimoni

Your tour operator will arrange transport (if needed) from your hotel to Shimoni Jetty.

8:00 AM – Arrive at Shimoni Jetty

Briefing by the guide, safety instructions, and boarding a traditional dhow or motorboat.

8:30 AM – Dolphin Spotting in Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park

Cruise through the clear waters, watching for bottlenose and humpback dolphins (sighting not guaranteed but highly likely).

Mid-Morning: Snorkeling Adventure

9:30 AM – Snorkeling at Kisite Coral Reef

Dive into the turquoise waters to explore vibrant coral gardens, tropical fish, and possibly sea turtles.

Equipment (mask, snorkel, life jacket) is provided.

Lunch: Swahili Feast on Wasini Island

12:00 PM – Arrival at Wasini Island

Enjoy a fresh Swahili seafood lunch (crab, fish, coconut rice, biryani, and tropical fruits).

Relax under the shade of baobab trees and explore the island’s coral rag forest.

Afternoon: Relaxation & Mangrove Exploration

1:30 PM – Optional Activities:

Walk through Wasini Village – Learn about Swahili culture.

Mangrove Boardwalk – Discover marine life in the tidal creeks.

Dhow Sailing – A leisurely cruise back to Shimoni.

Return Journey

3:00 PM – Depart Wasini Island

4:00 PM – Arrive at Shimoni Jetty & Transfer Back to Hotel
