Meals: Lunch, Dinner

7:30 am –You take off for Amboseli National Park heading down the Nairobi – Mombasa Highway. passing local homesteads and plantations and enter Maasai country. look for the local herders in their bright plaid wraps, tending their flocks.

The snowy peak of Mt. Kilimanjaro is your cue that the park is nearby.

Check in at your lodge/tented camp and have lunch. Later set out on your first game drive.

Soon you will spot elephants in families or alone among other wildlife, a beautiful sight.

Weather permitting you will view Kilimanjaro’s peak, one of Africa’s most iconic images.

Return for dinner at your Amboseli safari lodge or tented camp.

One full day of game drives. After breakfast, start exploring the park, looking for buffalo, rhino, zebra, monkeys, baboons, and, of course, lions and cheetahs.

Up on Observation Hill, you will leave your vehicle to stretch and take in the park’s many habitats. Over in the marshes, spot birdlife such as herons, falcons, eagles, egrets, pelicans, cranes, and Egyptian geese.

Drive back for lunch and enjoy your accommodation facilities. Later, when it starts to get cooler in the afternoon, set out for more drives.

Breakfast and head to your next destination, Aberdare Park 

Aberdare puts a different spin on the typical African adventure safari, with cool, lush forests and mountain lakes.

The wildlife includes buffalo, giant antelope, forest hog, hyenas, warthogs, and monkeys. You may spot this wildlife from your balcony at your special “tree hotel”.

While at Aberdare, you can choose to stay at the Treetops Lodge or The Ark.

Note: Only overnight bags are allowed at your Tree hotel. We will secure your other luggage.

Breakfast and depart the cool mountain climate for the warmer broad plains of Samburu National Reserve 

You will find the big cats here and plenty of elephants but not a lot of tourists.

You will have a full day of game drives today.

Your game drives will take you to the Ewaso Ngiro River, a lifeline cutting through the park and a perfect place to spot the park’s thirsty lions and elephants.

You will also be on the look out for Samburu unique species like the beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, and Grevy’s zebra.

If you wish, you can visit nearby Samburu People village and learn about their unique lifestyle.

Breakfast and heading to Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the cooler Laikipia region.

Ol Pejeta is the closest reserve to Nairobi where one can spot all of Africa’s “Big Five” – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. And also offers a chance to see the rare African wild dog, not seen at most parks.

Even more special of this conservancy, is it is the only place in Kenya where you can see chimpanzees in a natural setting.

Lunch, dinner at your Ol Pejeta accommodation.

Breakfast and Ol Pejeta to the shores of Lake Naivasha a freshwater lake that hosts hippos, zebra, giraffe, and antelope.

A relaxed game drives,

Lunch, dinner and overnight at your Lake Naivasha safari lodge or tented camp.

Breakfast and take an easy water exploration of the lake Naivasha, sailing past the hippos and viewing the grazing buffalo and antelope on the nearby shore.

With a quick trip to nearby Crescent Island Game Sanctuary for more close-up views of wildlife like wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, and giraffe.

Later take off to the great Masai Mara National Park home to the big cats, elephants, and the Great Migration of wildebeests. Lunch enroute

Arriving at the park just in time for an afternoon game drive over the reserve’s s with iconic acacia trees. Begin spotting the wildlife – these active fields and savannahs are part of the richest ecosystem in Africa.

Enjoy a full day of unlimited game drives throughout the vast riches of park. The Mara is known for its large numbers of big cats including lions, cheetahs, and leopards, jackals, hyenas, and many more.

And uncountable grazers that fill the park’s fields and forests and the numbers rise significantly during the season of the Great Migration from July – October.

You will enjoy a picnic lunch down at the Mara River, site of the migration’s wildlife crossing into the park. Here the thousands of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelle will try to evade the waiting crocodiles and make it to the opposite shore. An unbelievable spectacle. 

Other activities you can add to your safari are optional cultural to visit a local Masai the original people of this land as you learn about their pastoral lifestyle.

Or a Hot Air Balloon safari, a sunrise activity where you will glide over the park as the morning light brings the reserve to life. Unforgettable memory.

Evening relax and enjoy your dinner at your Mara accommodation

Breakfast and head to the border, crossing over to Tanzania to your next big destination, the Serengeti National park.

This world-famous reserve sits directly across from the Masai Mara. It is from the Serengeti where those unending hordes of wildebeests that you saw came.

The park is even larger than the Masai Mara and the numbers of wildlife here are immense with 1,000 leopards, over 4,000 lions.

Head to your Serengeti lodge or tented camp and unwind.

Full day to explore. The Serengeti is alive with its own world of wildlife of the big cats, elephant, rhino, giraffe, eland, gazelle, klipspringer, warthog, monkey, impala, honey badger, African wild dog, hippos, and more.

You witness different aspects of the wildebeest migration in the park from June through October, spotting the immense hordes of grazers herding off to the Masai Mara, searching for taller grasses and water.

December to March is the calving season and you will  witness incredible numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and others giving birth in the Serengeti region of Ndutu.

Both predators and grazers are always present in this amazing park.

En route, stop at the anthropological treasures at Olduvai Gorge . For decades, the gorge has yielded amazing ancient fossilized pieces of humankind’s history. In these sediment beds were found bones, tools, and other artifacts of our ancestors’ early development going back millions of years.

Later proceed to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet.

Descends the steep crater walls into a colourful realm holding every manner of wildlife, a dense region of lions, buffalo, elephant, baboon, hippos… even pink flamingos.

You will spend the day down in this dense world, full with animals and birds.

Enjoy your picnic lunch as you take in the beautiful surrounding.

Late afternoon you will ascend the steep caldera walls in time to enjoy a special moment of spectacular Ngorongoro sunset at the crater’s rim.

Depart to Tarangire National Park or Lake Manyara National Park

Tarangire Park is special home to its own smaller migration of lions, leopards, elephants, warthogs, ostriches, and many more species, numbering around 250,000 animals. This unique park has huge startling baobab trees, with their heavy trunks and spindly branches reaching toward the heavens.

Lake Manyara dazzles with its bright flock of pink flamingoes feeding at the lake’s shoreline. The birdlife here is rich and you’ll also find egrets, spoonbill, and heron.

The park’s wooded areas are just as enchanting, with Africa’s very special acacia trees. The park is known for the very unique tree-climbing lions!
